HELP UNLOCK MY IPOD TOUCH PLEASE ASAP?

i forgot my pword on my ipod touch and i cant unlock it. I tryed holding the power on and home on but it still hasnt worked. I says if i want to restore it but when i click on restore it says ipod software update server could not be contacted. how can i unlock my pword??? helpp please
