Man vs. Wild on Discovery Channel?

Is this guy for real of what? Cutting the head off the poisonous snake and started eating the rest of it raw. Caught a wild 25-30 lbs. catfish, cut it up and ate it raw. Caught and killed a crocodile, slit the tail, took a large chunk of meat off its tail and ate it raw. What do you guys think? I think a major salmonella, food poisoning, and highly likely death, or is this good editing?
